Biz BuilderCan your business make money?
Build a tiny imaginary business and find out whether it makes money.
The challenge
Selling something is only half the story. Every sale has a cost, every month has bills, and getting started costs money too. Find out how many sales it takes before the business pays for itself.
How it works
Method & assumptions
Revenue = price × units sold. Variable costs = cost per unit × units sold.
Operating profit = revenue minus variable costs minus fixed costs for the month.
Break-even units = fixed costs ÷ (price minus cost per unit), rounded up. If the price is at or below the cost per unit, the business cannot break even.
Startup costs are one-time and are compared separately against profit over your planning horizon.
