The world is still in development. Here is what we can tell you right now.
The game
What is RamQuest?
RamQuest is a stylized simulation adventure game set in Nexus City and its countryside, where players build a life, make the calls and see what happens. Players explore a compact futuristic city and its surrounding countryside, take on story-driven scenarios and meet a recurring cast of characters. Everyday situations such as a first job, a late bill or a community problem arrive as part of the adventure rather than as a lesson, and there is always room to recover and try a different direction.
What do players do?
Players explore Nexus City and the countryside zones around it, take jobs, gather resources, trade with vendors and respond to scenarios involving work, money, housing and community. Each day is shaped by limited action points, so choosing where to spend time and energy is part of the strategy. Characters, consequences and progression connect those choices into a path that belongs to each player.
What are RAM and AP?
RAM is RamQuest’s fictional in-game currency, earned through actions such as work, gathering and trade. AP, or action points, is the daily energy budget that elevated actions spend. Available AP resets with the next real-world day, encouraging players to plan their routes and return regularly. Both systems are part of the current game; balancing may continue to be refined during Alpha.
How do food, energy and rest work?
Characters manage energy by eating and resting, which themselves use part of the day’s action points. Food can be bought, gathered or stored, but unrefrigerated food spoils between day resets, so stocking the fridge becomes a planning decision. These survival systems are in the game today and are designed to make everyday tradeoffs feel natural.
How can players earn RAM?
Players earn RAM through daily job check-ins, scenarios and gathering activities such as fishing in Riverlight Valley, mining in Crownridge and chopping wood in the countryside. Gathered resources can be sold to vendors in the Market District. Because every activity spends time and energy, each route earns different rewards and shapes the rest of the day.
Is there leveling or competition?
Yes. Character progression and competitive leveling are complete parts of the current game, so players can grow their character and compare progress. RPG stat elements, new abilities and leaderboards are in development and will expand how progression is measured and shared. Mid- and late-game progression systems are also in active development.
How big is the world?
The Alpha sandbox is Nexus City and its surroundings: one compact futuristic city, Nexus City, surrounded by countryside, mountain and river valley zones. Each player begins at a family home outside the city. The long-term launch goal is a much larger world of 12 or more unique cities across distinct zones, introduced as development progresses.
Is RamQuest multiplayer?
Collaborative and social play is in development and is not advertised as live today. Planned social features include friends lists and house visits. In school environments, any social interaction is moderated and controlled by teachers to help prevent cyberbullying.
Can I customize my character or own a home?
Avatar customization and housing are both in development. Pets, daily events and house visits are in the planning stage. Feature availability will be reflected on the development status page as work moves forward, and we avoid announcing features before they are ready.
Is RamQuest built in Unreal Engine?
Yes. RamQuest is designed and built around Unreal Engine 5, using a whimsical, stylized art direction rather than photorealism. Implementation details and performance targets may continue to evolve as the world grows.
What platforms will it run on?
RamQuest is distributed through its own game launcher. Supported platforms and hardware requirements have not been formally announced yet, and they will be published on the launcher page once they are confirmed.
Access & development
When can I play?
The coordinated Alpha kickoff with schools is in progress and planned for the coming weeks. A general public release date has not been announced. The most up-to-date picture of what is complete, in progress and planned is always on the development status page.
What does Alpha mean?
Alpha is an evaluation phase: an early version with coordinated access, evolving features and a strong focus on feedback. Participating teachers and students help shape what comes next. Alpha is not a final product commitment, and features may change as testing continues.
How do I get access?
Alpha access is currently coordinated through participating schools, which administer all student logins. Schools and organizations interested in taking part can reach the team through the contact page. Updates about wider access will be shared on the updates page.
Schools & families
Can schools use RamQuest?
Yes. RamQuest is built for schools as a teacher’s aid, and the Alpha kickoff begins with schools over the coming weeks. Schools and teachers provision and manage every student login, set the boundaries of play and use built-in grading and evaluation to review student responses. Participation is an evaluation phase and does not imply district endorsement or broad deployment.
What is RamIQ?
RamIQ (opens in new tab) is the educator-facing platform connected to RamQuest. Teachers use its AI-assisted pipeline to turn real curriculum material into scenarios that load dynamically into the game, delivered through a rotating cast of 40 NPC personas. Educators remain responsible for their content, and the player experience stays a game rather than a quiz or gradebook.
Is RamQuest educational?
The base world builds in world commerce and starter citizen knowledge, such as budgeting, work and everyday decisions, as playable systems. Teachers can add subject-specific content through RamIQ (opens in new tab), and built-in evaluation scores responses players give in character dialogue. Learning is embedded in play rather than delivered as a separate lesson.
What information is collected from students?
Student accounts are created and administered by schools and teachers, not through this public website. Data practices should be reviewed with each participating institution and follow its policies and applicable guardian and privacy requirements. The platform is designed to isolate district and school environments; no certification or compliance status is claimed here.
Money & other uses
Is the in-game money real?
No. All money, credit, investing and markets in RamQuest are simulated game systems that exist only inside the game. RAM cannot be bought, withdrawn or exchanged for real currency, and no real financial accounts are involved.
Does RamQuest give investment advice?
No. Simulated scenarios are educational illustrations designed to build familiarity with common decisions. They are not investment, legal, tax or financial planning advice, and players should consult qualified professionals for real-world decisions.
Can organizations use the technology?
Yes. Organizations can explore purpose-built training scenarios through RamIQ (opens in new tab) scenario servers across areas such as HR, warehouse protocols, agency work and online business, with dialogue-based evaluation for each participant. Corporate use is coordinated directly with the team, and scope is defined with each organization.
